1. Can I have a tour of the facility?

2. What services does High-Happy Pet Resort provide?

3. Where are you located?

ABSOLUTELY!!!  As a matter of fact, we encourage you to ask for a tour ANYWHERE you are considering leaving your babies.  Here at High-Happy Pet Resort we are proud to show you the living accommodations where your baby will be sleeping and playing while you are away.  You will not be disappointed with our set-up and our current clients can attest to that.

We are in the business of providing your babies the best services available in the Rio Grande Valley.  We are an unmatched resort that provides daycare, overnight boarding, and a self-serve dog wash.

We are located at 4606 S. Business Hwy 281, Edinburg, Texas 78539.  We are situated just west of Hwy 281/I-69 and south of Trenton.  Please check our directions page here.

4. How much does it cost to leave my baby overnight?

Since we never discriminate on the size of anyone’s baby, it all depends on how comfortable you want your loved one to be.  We have different sizes of sleeping arrangements starting at $18 per night.  Please come by or call us for an accurate quote for your desired days.

5. What vaccines does my baby need?

We require the following vaccines to be up to date:

Dogs - Rabies, Bordetella (Canine Cough), and Distemper/Parvo.

Cats - up to date with Rabies and Feline Distemper/Parvo Combo (FVRCP).

We highly recommend the Bordetella vaccination every six months and puppies must have at least the second round of puppy vaccinations.  A copy of these vaccinations is needed prior to staying at our resort.

6. I have decided to leave my baby overnight.  What other forms do you need besides vaccination records prior to our arrival?

We will need for you to fill out our boarding intake form and sign off on our contract/policy.  You can download our forms here.

7. What are your hours of operation?

Monday - Friday:

7:30am - 11:30am & 1:30pm - 5:30pm

Saturday & Sunday:

PEAK season: 9:00am - 11:00am & 4:00pm - 6:00pm

Pick-ups and Drop-offs available on the weekends during OFF PEAK and HOLIDAY season for an additional fee AND by appointment only, click here for more details.

8. What do you mean by PEAK and OFF-PEAK season?  What is the difference?

We operate on a PEAK and OFF-PEAK calendar just like a standard calendar school year.  We organize our days of operation in the same manner to mirror the summer, winter, and major holidays.  We do this to better serve the needs of our clients by maximizing and utilizing our staff efficiently.  Doing this allows us to provide the highest quality care available for your baby during that time.  Peak season prices are generally a little higher than off-peak due to the higher demand from our clients.  Please see our calendar dates here so you can plan your vacations accordingly.

9. What are your check-in and check-out times?

You may check-in your baby anytime during regular business hours.  Our check-out time is 11:00am Monday through Friday.  If you pick-up your baby after 11:00am, a $10 daycare fee will apply. Saturday and Sunday a $10 daycare fee always applies.

10. I have two babies.  Can they stay in the same space together?

11. How early do I need to make reservations?

12. Do you require a deposit for reservations during the holidays?

Of course!!!  As long as they both have good temperament and can get along with each other.  We have Villas available specifically for that type of accommodation.  Additionally, you will receive a multiple pet discount for your second baby.

Reservations should always be made well in advance in order to secure your baby’s desired space.  Although we generally don’t require a reservation, it is highly recommended so you don’t risk leaving your baby in an uncomfortable and unfamiliar location.  Furthermore, we completely understand that sometimes plans change or there is a family emergency.  Even if its last minute, we will gladly accept walk-ins or same day reservations for your baby, as long as there are vacancies

We require deposits for reservations booked through the peak and holiday seasons.  50% of the total quote is due at time of reservation.  Please check our calendar dates for our peak and holiday seasons.

13. Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes, we have a cancellation policy for our peak and holiday reservations.  Deposits for these dates are fully refundable if cancelled within 45 days.  Please check our complete cancellation policy here.

14. What do I need to bring for my baby’s stay?

All of our guests are provided with a bed inside their suites.  You may bring their own bedding and no more than two toys.  It is also very important to bring sufficient food for the duration of the stay.  If food is not brought, we will provide a highly nutritious diet at a rate of $4/day.  Leashes are not necessary but please make sure all items brought are clearly labeled with your baby’s name.

15. It’s my baby’s first time by himself/herself and he/she has never stayed anywhere before.  Any tips?

We would like for you to visit our resort with your baby before your anticipated stay.  We highly recommend for your baby to be familiar with our facility and possibly stay a few times for daycare.  The more familiar they are with our resort, the easier the transition will be.  The guests that do well during our overnight stays are usually the regular attendees of our daycare services.  As always, parents are more than welcome to call and check up on their baby anytime during their stay.

16. What is doggie daycare?

17. Will my baby get hurt in daycare?

18. What is a self-serve dog wash?

Daycare is a daily service that we provide Monday through Friday where we take care of your baby while you are at work or out for the day.  It allows your baby to socialize and interact with our other guests and receive exercise as well.  There is playtime in our playroom, obedience games, activities, and group play with our highly-trained staff.  It’s an excellent alternative to leaving you baby home alone plus you will reduce the risk of anxiety and depression.

We always strive to make sure your baby is safe under our care.  We are extremely selective with our guests by checking temperament before they are allowed in group play.  Our staff is well trained to deal with aggressive fur babies during group play.  Do you remember when you went to school and you got hurt playing in the playground?  Well, sometimes accidents happen.  But rest assured that we will contact you immediately in the rare case where your baby is involved in an incident.

A self-serve dog wash is a way to bond with your baby plus it allows you to give them a bath and provide the cleanliness they deserve.  We provide a safe and secure location along with all the tools you need to wash and groom your loved one.  We provide the tub, water, shampoo, towel, and apron and all you have to do is bring your baby.  Come try our exclusive bathing system and you will see what you have been missing out on.  Finally, don’t worry about making a mess.  That’s the convenience and service we provide.

19. What is included with my baby’s overnight stay?

20. Do you accept cats for overnight stays?  If so, what vaccinations are needed?

21. Can you give my baby a bath?

Your baby’s stay includes a comfortable accommodation in one of our state of the art suites.  Each suite will include a bed, water and food bowls, plus any additional items or bedding you provide.  Our staff will take your baby out for daily walks several times during the day and will also participate in group play with our other resort guests.  Additionally, your baby will receive a complimentary self-serve exit bath when you stay with us 3 or more nights.

Yes, we do accept feline babies.  We require proof of a current rabies vaccination plus (((((((FPCVR)))))))))))))))))))

As always, you will receive a complimentary self-serve exit bath when your baby stays with us three or more nights.  Depending on the availability of our staff, we do provide this service for $10 above the price of the dog wash requested.

22. I have a 2 month old puppy. Can he stay at High-Happy Pet Resort?

Yes. Your puppy is welcome to board at our facility, however, there are extra fees associated with caring for puppies less than 12 months old. Pet parents with puppies less than 12 months old will automatically incur a nightly $7 "puppy fee".  Puppies that require even more care/special handling will incur an additional special handling fee of $5 on top of the "puppy fee".  This additional special handling fee will be determined on a case by case basis once your puppy is staying at our facility.  These fees are put in place to assure our staff is able to maintain our high level of care and cleanliness with all of our resort guests including puppies that are not housebroken.
